07-04-08 Quick Update
I recently had a call from the Chapters book store in Kamloops, British Columbia. They told me The Wrath of Zar has been selling very well and they invited me back for another book signing. I personally wish I could do more book signings, but the truth of the matter is that they are very difficult for me to do. Because my publisher is a small press and from the southern states, my book isn't readily available north of the border. And even though this makes things difficult, book signings are still possible, but I have such a long list of reasons I'm going to spare you the grief of listing them all. There's a book signing in the works in September at Great Falls, Montana, and if I can get back to Kamloops again this summer I will.
I've recieved some surprising emails lately from a few people who've read the book and then came to my website. Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I'm still hard at work on book two and hope to have it finished by the end of summer, and sometime between now and then I'll have some more updates. Feel free to read the little blurb in the book section to wet your appetite. (scroll to the bottom)
I also have a quick word of advice for the graduates of 2008: The next ten years will determine the rest of your life, so take care of yourself both physically and mentally, work as hard as you can, and enjoy every minute of it.
Have a wonderful summer!

I have a new page up and running. It will be used to post all of my thoughts and rambles, a place to vent or share with you the events in my life. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? Well, you could always humor me and pretend to read it. My first post is a rant on going green. As an electrician I've been exposed to some of the things happening in the world and I thought this information should be shared with the few people who return to my site. I know, most of you are just waiting for information on book two, but in the meantime I can offer you something to do while you're waiting for that. Follow the links on the left if you're interested.

Daniel Jolley has reviewed The Wrath of Zar. This is the most impressive five star review to date. I posted the entire review on the review page.
05-29-08 Women and The Wrath of Zar
First off, I owe a special thank you to everyone who's purchased and read The Wrath of Zar. Lately I’ve received some comments and there is one thing that has really caught me by surprise—women love The Wrath of Zar. The difference in comments that I’ve received from women as opposed to men are literally mind bending. It’s almost as if they’ve read a completely different book.
Something else that surprised me is the effect the ending has had on certain readers. I even received comments from my publisher when I submitted to them. I realized the somewhat controversial ending would spark some interesting comments, but this is nothing compared to what I expected. Without spoiling anything for anybody, I will say that there is much more to the ending than you might believe.
More updates are coming for both The Resurgence of Granaz and The Wrath of Zar. You might have also noticed a new page titled "Depths of Jade." I couldn't get the full title into the button, but the entire title is Into the Depths of Jade.

Today's update is for Clover Autrey, who's debut novel was released just last week. Her new book is Upon Eagles Light. I've now ordered my copy from Amazon. I've read other work of hers before and if this book is anything like she's done in the past then I'm in for a treat. If you're interested in having a look, go HERE.

The singings in Kamloops and Clearwater went very well. I would like to thank the people at Chapters for their incredible support. I recieved a very warm welcome and I look forward to returning there in the future.
On to other news. My good friends in Clearwater, BC, owners of Grizzly Engraving, helped create two very special editions of The Wrath of Zar. Only two of these will be made, and eveyone will recieve the oppurtunity to win one of these rare books. I hope to showcase the other at World Fantasy 2008.

Grizzly Engraving, using laser technology, printed the cover image from The Wrath of Zar onto a thin piece of brass. That sheet was then sized and laminated onto the hard cover.

This is a picture of my daughter when she was two. This was also done by Grizzly Engraving. I had to show it off, it's just too amazing to keep to ourselves.

RisingShadow.net got their hands on The Wrath of Zar. Their five star review is posted in the review section. I believe they will be hosting a fantasy themed contest in the near future and the winner will recieve a signed copy of The Wrath of Zar.

Other than the new reviews posted on Amazon, there really hasn't been anything to report. I've recieved plenty of comments from people who've read the book. Send me an email and I'll post your comments in the review section. There are several proffesional reviews still coming but I believe they will appear over the next few months.
I'm also in the process of finalizing author appearances near my hometown, Clearwater, BC.

I thought I would post a picture of the event from Chapters. It was my first signing and I was quite nervous when I arrived. I want to give a very special thank you to all my friends and family who came to support me. Now that I have that one out of the way I'm looking forward to many more. I already have some plans for next year that I'm very excited about.
I apologize for the quick update. I'll write more as promised as soon as I have some time, probably after Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone!
